The Village Palms is a contemporary retirement village in Christchurch’s North Eastern suburbs. Architecturally stunning with private garden courtyards and views of beautifully landscaped grounds, the two-storey building includes a mix of care wings and ground floor serviced apartments with central heating, reticulated fresh air, ensuites with underfloor heating and 24-hour emergency call buttons.
Dedicated chefs are able to prepare lovely nutritious food, in the stunning full commercial kitchen. It's been an exciting venture to be part of this project!
THE CHALLENGE:
Hostservice was excited to be brought into this project. We were asked to review the design, and assess whether it met the customer's needs. However, contstruction for the original kitchen design had already started. Hostservice rose to the the challenge to create a super-efficent, well-designed kitchen within existing construction constraints.
THE SOLUTION:
Hostservice suggested the striking Waldorf Bold cooking line. This gave class and elegance to 'show cooking' style of the kitchen. The European designed, hot and cold buffet units, ensured residents received their food in style.
When we teamed these together with the architect's choice of white-subway tiles and grand marble servery counter, we ended up with a pretty impressive looking kitchen.
We worked carefully with builders, architects, joiners, tradesmen and managers to ensure the project ran smoothly and no detail was forgotten. Our experienced team, provided training sessions to the kitchen staff, to maximise the potential of the kitchen.
What an exciting challenge to be presented with, and what an awesome result has been achieved!
